For those unable to stay in the Marley’s limited number of rooms, we’ve found the following wonderful places, all less than a 10-minute drive from The Marley.

Parker Palm Springs

Set on a 13-acre complex and featuring decor by designer Jonathan Adler, this chic, upscale resort is 3 miles from Palm Springs Airport and 4 miles from shopping in downtown Palm Springs. The fashionable, modern rooms have flat-screen TVs. Some have private patios. Suites add living rooms, dining areas and kitchens, while some have private entrances. There's a terrace eatery, an opulent restaurant, and a bohemian bar, plus a cocktail bar and a lemonade stand. Other amenities include 2 outdoor pools, tennis courts and a 24-hour fitness room, as well lawn games, and a posh spa with an indoor pool. Meeting rooms and a ballroom are available.

Avalon Hotel & Bungalows

Set on landscaped gardens in the foothills of the San Jacinto Mountains, this high-end, Spanish Mission–style hotel is an 11-minute walk from Palm Springs Art Museum and 7 miles from Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. Chic, contemporary rooms have Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and Bluetooth speakers, plus minibars and Italian linens. Upgraded rooms add terraces or balconies, while suites and bungalows feature living rooms with wet bars. Some bungalows add kitchens and/or fireplaces. Yoga classes are free. Close to eateries on a downtown street with views of the San Jacinto Mountains, this chic hotel is 3 minutes' walk from the Palm Springs Art Museum and 2 miles from Palm Springs International Airport. Sophisticated rooms come with Wi-Fi access, flat-screens, minibars and yoga mats. Upgraded rooms and suites add mountain views, soaking tubs and/or sitting areas; some provide sofabeds. In-room spa treatments are available. There are regular evening socials, as well as 2 restaurants - 1 serving Mediterranean fare - and 2 bars (1 rooftop with mountain views). Colony Palms Hotel

Set in a stucco building dating from 1936, this bright hotel is just over a block from the mid-century modern furniture shops, galleries and restaurants of Palm Canyon Drive, and 1.2 miles from the luxe shopping of El Paseo.
